Merry Christmas!

Dear Evan,

Wow - your 1st Christmas was quite a special one! On Christmas Eve, Grandma Nellie, Phil & Nana came up to our house so we could have dinner together. They came to the house with some great Christmas presents for you. Here's a picture of you & Nana enjoying one of your new toys. This one has quickly become one of your favorites!

On Christmas morning, you awoke to find that Santa had brought you even more gifts. Here is a picture of you taking your new dump truck for a spin.

We quickly got you all gussied up & ready to go up to the mountains to celebrate Christmas with more family. Mark & Lilly hosted dinner at their cabin in Lake Arrowhead. About 20 people from mom's side of the family were there.

It had snowed the week before, so when we took a walk, your Aunt Jenn showed you what snow felt like.

You & your Uncle Kevin played around on the couch before it was time for dinner.

The next day, we went to Grammy & Pops' house to exchange gifts. Here they are sitting on the same bench that they sat on when they were dating. Your great-grandmother, Mary-Louise, had this bench in her house.

You got a book of nursery rhymes. It has some great illustrations & it even came with a CD. You were really enamored with it!

And you got one more big gift ... a Radio Flyer walker! Lately we've been giving you rides in it & you've been using it as a walker, while you are on your knees. In no time, you will be walking & pushing it all around the house!

It was such a wonderful Christmas. We were really lucky that we got to spend both Thanksgiving & Christmas with your Aunt Jenn & Uncle Kevin.

Merry Christmas!

A trip to the North Pole

Dear Evan,

Christmastime is almost here so we dressed you in your new holiday sweater & took you to visit Santa. It seems like every other family in Orange County had the same idea we did because the line was so long. Your dad & I weren't too sure how you would take to Santa, but just look at you! You loved every minute of it!!

It was such a special day to see you sitting there with Santa. I hope you told him everything you wanted because Christmas is just a few days away!

1st haircut

Dear Evan,

You are seriously the cutest thing ever! Most kids cry & scream during their 1st haircut. You? Well, you laughed & smiled. I took you to this little shop in Tustin to get your hair cut & this sweet woman sang to you while she snipped away. And you loved the attention! Just look at you ...

With that haircut, you look even more like a little boy. I can't believe how grown up you already are!

10 months old

Dear Evan,

Wow - this past month has flown by! I look back on all of these pictures I take of you each month & I am just amazed at your growth. You are quickly moving out of the 'baby' phase & becoming a toddler. Everyone told me it would go by quickly but I never imagined it would be this quick!

You are always on the go. You are a master crawler & before I even have a chance to catch up with you, you've already discovered something new ... like Ginger's water bowl, or the the plant by the front door, or the contents of the drawers in the kitchen. The list could go on & on. Needless to say, you have me on my toes!

You love to stand up & cruise around the couch in the living room. Since we don't want you to fall & hurt yourself, we're storing the coffee table in the garage until you've mastered walking. It kind of looks like a romper room in our house, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

And you are sprouting new teeth. As of now, you have 5 teeth (4 on bottom & 1 on top). Your other top tooth looks like its going to come through any second now.

You love to clap at anything that makes you happy & you've almost mastered waving goodbye to people. It is just so much fun watching you learn.

Until next month ...
Love,
Mom & Dad
