Happy Birthday Buddy! It’s hard to believe that you are 2 years old. These past few months have flown by! People told us that it would go by quickly, but we never thought it would be this quick. Right now you are a walking, talking machine & everyday holds something new. You constantly amaze us with the new words you say & things you can do. Although your speech is rapidly increasing, you’ve also created a couple of Evan-isms. For instance:
Oat = Yogurt
Go-ga = Dog
Moose = Move
We’ve done a lot over the past 6 months! Here are some of the highlights …
When you’re dad & I first met, he was working for Lexus, designing a new super-car. Five years later, his hard work paid off & the Lexus LF-A became a reality. Only 500 cars are being produced worldwide & the base price is $375,000! By the time you are reading this, you’ll probably be driving a hovercraft & think that $375,000 is chump-change, but in 2010, it’s a pretty big deal. In August, your dad got to bring an LF-A home. We couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. He was so excited to show our friends & neighbors the project he’d worked on, but he was most excited to give you a ride!
In October, we took a family trip to San Diego for our annual Fall Traditions – apple & pumpkin picking. We also got to take you to the San Diego Zoo & Sea World. As we could’ve predicted, you loved it all. We got to pet an actual penguin & go inside the penguin exhibit at the zoo. Your eyes were as big as saucers … you love penguins!
In December, Mimi, Pops, Dad, you & I went to New York to celebrate Christmas with Aunt Jenn & Uncle Kevin. Someone must’ve been wishing for a white Christmas because that is exactly what we got! We were caught in one of the craziest snowstorms the East Coast has seen. Luckily, we got to do a couple of fun things before the snow trapped everyone indoors. The department store windows, Rockefeller Center & the Transportation Museum were all big hits. Aunt Jenn & Uncle Kevin were such great hosts. It was the last time we’d be able to stay with them in their apartment since they turned their 2nd bedroom into a nursery. Your cousin should be making her grand appearance in a month!
And before we knew it, it was time to celebrate your birthday. This year, we did a dual birthday party & celebrated with your best pal, Ella. She’s only 2 weeks older than you & you have all the same friends, so it only made sense to celebrate together. It was a luau theme & everyone had a blast.
This coming year will bring even more great memories. At the end of the summer, you will become a big brother. We can’t wait to see if you will have a little sister or little brother. Either way, we know that the baby is extremely lucky to have someone as caring, funny & adventurous as you for a big brother.
We love you so much,
Mom & Dad

Evan,
You stole my heart the day you were born. I love to watch you grow and explore your world. Your love of trains is so fun. Last Thanksgiving Pops & your dad put up a Christmas train at our house. Well it's March and it's still up and running because it's your favorite thing play with. So cute when you started saying Choo Choo and "Awl Board". I love reading stories to you before your naps & when you go to bed. I love to watch you on the monitor while you sleep. & when you wake up you call "Mimi". Your mom wanted my name to be Grammy but you would say "Mimi"! I love you more and more each day. You bring a very special joy into my life....I'm a very lucky Mimi!
